Once everything is set Once everything is installed, proceed to Step Three.

Step Three: Port Forwarding will need to port forward port 25565 to the internal IP address of your server within your router.

Portforward.com can assist you with port forwarding. There you can enter the make and model number of your router and the device/application/software you wish to forward. The site will then give you a an easy-to-follow guide on how to properly port forward your router.

After completing port forwarding, go to www.portchecktool.com to check if port 25565 is open. If it is, you will receive an "Success!" message.

Further assistance with port forwarding is provided in our General Port Forwarding Guide.

You will need to ensure that we're resolving your hostname to the correct external IP address. You can check your current IP address by, once again, visiting www.portchecktool.com from the network's location.

Step Four: Now you need to set up a system to keep No-IP updated with your dynamic public (external) IP address. There are several methods to accomplish this.

First, you can download our free Dynamic Update Client. The client should be running all the time at the network's location. It will then monitor your IP address every 5 minutes. If your IP has changed, it will update that change using No-IP.

You can also check if a device at your network is compatible with No-IP for Dynamic DNS updates integrated into the network. No-IP for DynamicDNS can be found on certain devices like cameras and routers. This will eliminate the need to download the Dynamic Update Client.

Step Five Step Five: Now you should be able connect to your server. You can also invite your friends to connect. Simply provide them with the hostname and port number. For example, "hostname.domain.com:25565".
